About Sudan, Sudan is a country in Northeastern Africa, and it is the largest country in Africa. The country is divided ethnically  and culturally with an Arabs Muslims in the North and African Indigenous Christians in the South. In a cruel twist the colonial British tried to unite the country and placed the capital in the North. Civil war and genocide followed and went on for over twenty one years which left the South devastated. Between the 1983 and 2005, two million people were killed in the South whose majorities of them were women and children, and four million displaced. This war initially started in Bor.The last three generation of Southern Sudanese have grown up in a hopeless and helpless environment. Life is still very indescribable, though the peace was signed in 2005.  No groups have been more greatly affected by the civil war than women and children. Almost all have witnessed atrocities, been victims of atrocities or been forced to commit them during the war. Women and young people have no accesses to education and health services. Hunger and poverty are the keys issues to increasing vulnerability of women and young people in Southern Sudan.

Baai-Bor Women in Australia Inc believe that, if people are to respond to the needs of the world and its people, word alone  or individual help is not enough for those without fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, food, clothing, shelters and a better education. BBWA INC is greatly encouraging everyone to participate and contribute to this journey. Please help in anyway you can to help others.
