Goals
Women and girls are the poorest group in Southern Sudan. This is because of the war and the extremes type of injustice that persist in many parts of Africa. We aims to work and stand in solidarity with local communities in Jonglei State, South Sudan, to assist in supporting women and girls and closing the gap where girls/women can plan ahead for the future and take responsibility for their actions. The educational facility may offer them the range of services and programs available from the local NGOs with in the state and connect them to the national range of NGOs. Women may come to the Center for information and support when and as often as they determine necessary. It will provide women and adolescent girls with the information and support they need to make positive changes in their lives. Women want to live full, healthy lives and to develop both the internal resources and the external support. This may mean working through poverty related concerns, removing themselves from an unhealthy relationship, healing from childhood traumas such as sexual or physical abuse, freeing themselves from addictions, building self-awareness and a sense of power over their lives, enrolling in academic upgrading and re-training programs, and developing positive parenting skills as well as the leadership skills for women! |
